Christmas Cracker night was a huge success. It was dry!!!! The lanterns all looked amazing and its certainly kicked off the festive season in style. Thanks to everyone who supported and came along. We are really proud of our amazing Networks group of young people who helped throughout the project but who also teamed up with our brilliant year 8 lads to carry the big front lantern.

SHOE BOX APPEAL SUCCESS

SHOE BOX APPEAL SUCCESS

This year one of our amazing Youth Workers Chloe and a team of incredible young people put out an appeal for donations of shoe boxes and gift items. The response was great and the generosity of young people, their families along with Dorchester Tesco, Hotter Shoes and Crew Clothing just shone through. The shoe boxes were jam packed with goodies destined for young people living in supported housing in Dorchester and for homeless people in Weymouth via the Homeless Bus. It was a team effort and we are really thankful to everyone who supported and helped.

Table Top and Open Community Event October 2019

WOW what a day! It was an event filled with smiling faces, loads of chatter and lets not forget to mention a huge amount of delicious cake; generously donated by our staff, volunteers and local supporters. However, young people definitely win the award for...

DYCC SHOE BOX APPEAL SUCCESS

WELL DONE TO CHLOE AND HER TEAM OF YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE HUGE SUCCESS OF THE SHOE BOX PROJECT.

MIKEY WINS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD!

MIKEY BAGS THE AWARD! Mikey won the Volunteer of the Year Award and we are super happy for him. Mikey gives so much of his time to DYCC and we all think this award is well deserved.

DORCHESTER MARKET CAR BOOT FUND

CULTURE EATS COOKING PROJECT was created by a group of year 8 boys. When we announced that we had the support from Dorchester Market Car Boot Fund  the young people’s minds were blown (so to speak). The project was a huge success spanning across all evening sessions with a few trips thrown in for good measure. Young people loved meeting the managers of local restaurants and businesses from Basili.co, Wagamama and Chey from Wildwolf Bushcraft; all inspirational people who went above and beyond to share their knowledge and skills (along with great ‘bants’ which young people loved). The food cooked up throughout the project sparked conversations around traditions, meanings, society, family and what influences what we eat.
